Patiently Waiting

The Church of St. Michael in New Haven has been around for over one hundred years. It is quite beautiful inside and at another time I will post photos. Today...just Advent doors.
The liturgical year for the church begins on the First Sunday in Advent which is four Sundays before Christmas. Each Sunday is counted down by lighting one candle on an Advent wreath. Hope is the first Sunday.
Purple is the color for Advent....NOT red and green! Purple signifies repentence, something that we reflect on as we patiently wait for the Christ child to come.
Milo the Advent dog - he lives his life patiently waiting.

  1. My first time to see an Advent dog! He does look a bit repentant here.
Hope he is filled with hope.

  2. He is ALWAYS filled with hope! Hope that he'll catch a squirrel, hope that I come home after four hours away, hope in the joy that he'll receive a treat after sitting up for me. Hope.....
